As the River Dances (2027) is a collective exhibition by Wye Contemporary members.
The exhibition explores interpretations of how contemporary artists connect with the River Wye, local heritage and mental health. The works aim to represent the invisible relationships between nature, wellbeing and creativity.
The exhibition will feature a wide variety of materials and processes, including collage, drawing, painting and sculpture, and aims to explore the intersectionality between health and contemporary art practice.
Wye Contemporary is an artist network led by artist and co-ordinator Gemma Moore. The network connects artists across Herefordshire, Worcester and the Marches area and aims to explore ideas around the River Wye, mental health, care for local culture and history. Gemma Moore is a British Artist, lecturer and curator specialising in socially engaged art practices in the West Midlands, with a particular interest in the relationship between contemporary drawing practices and people living with dementia in different care settings.
